CIMB Thai wins Best Sustainability Linked Loan at The Digital Banker: Global Sustainable Finance Awards 2024

The inaugural Global Sustainable Finance Awards, organised by The Digital Banker, exist to honour and celebrate the world's preeminent and ground-breaking financial service institutions and their distinguished leadership contribution to driving sustainable finance and responsible investment practices across products, services, solutions, projects and initiatives.

In a move underlining their commitment to sustainability, Asset World Corp Public Company Limited (AWC), Thailand's leading real estate group, secured a THB 3,000 million Sustainability-Linked Loan from CIMB Thai in 2023. The loan incentivizes AWC to align its operations with sustainability goals.

CIMB Thai has been awarded these honours after stringent adjudication by The Digital Banker's judging panel, under which the organisation has successfully fulfilled the criteria for these categories. The Digital Banker stated, "CIMB Thai Bank has truly demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through the launch of its first Sustainability-Linked Loan in 2023, which are characterized by Sustainability Performance Targets (SPTs). Importantly, through this initiative the Bank is directly contributing to the reduction of GHG emissions and realizing tangible progress in minimizing the carbon footprint of all stakeholders involved."
