Press Releases »

As Thailand's pet industry continues to thrive, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., a leading organizer of pet-related trade shows and services, is setting an ambitious goal for the 23rd edition of the SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show, aiming to generate over THB 75 million in economic value. Scheduled to take place from June 26-29, 2025, the event highlights a strong upward trend in Thailand's "Petconomy," which has seen pet-related events multiply fourfold since 2022.

Pet Event Industry Booms as Market Expands IMPACT Targets Over THB 75 Million in Economic Value from This Year's Dog Show

Thailand's Petconomy Spurs Surge in Pet Events

According to Ms. Kunwadee Jintavorn, Executive Director of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., Thailand's pet market was valued at approximately THB 75 billion in 2024 (source: TTB Bank). This surge in spending extends across pet food, accessories, housing, healthcare, and even end-of-life services—contributing to a robust "Petconomy." As a result, Thailand has seen pet-related events grow from fewer than 10 in 2022 to over 40 expected in 2025, with a projected market value of over THB 3 billion, including pet expos for dogs, cats, and exotic animals like birds, fish, and reptiles.

Dog Events Dominate Market Growth

IMPACT continues to lead with the largest dog-focused expo in the country. Citing data from Kasikorn Research Center, the number of pet dogs in Thailand is expected to surpass 3.45 million in 2025. The upcoming SmartHeart presents Thailand International Dog Show, co-organized with The Kennel Association of Thailand, reaffirms its position as Thailand's premier dog event with over 300 leading brands showcased across 10,000 square meters.

In 2024, the top-selling product categories included pet care accessories and innovative products, with more than 68% of visitors expressing a preference for items that support the mindset of "caring for dogs as family." This shift has driven growth in premium products and specialized services, such as pet insurance, health-specific nutrition, and medical-grade strollers. Hybrid shopping behavior—researching online and purchasing in person—has become the norm.

More Than Just Shopping: Experience-Driven, Pet-Friendly Lifestyle

Modern pet owners seek experiences, not just shopping. The 2025 event is themed "Dog Show Adventure", offering immersive experiences where dogs and owners can bond. From interactive games to video challenges, the show is designed to foster joyful and memorable moments.

Highlights include

  • International Dog Beauty Competition by The Kennel Association of Thailand, with the Royal Trophy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, judged by experts from 10 countries
  • Professional Dog Grooming Competition by F.C.I. Thailand

Fun activities for all:

  • Come to Mama" dog recall race

Industry Insight: Bubble or Sustainable Growth?

Despite being a sunrise industry both locally and globally, concerns remain about its sustainability. On June 26, 2025, the Thai Pet Product Industries Association (TPIA) will host a seminar titled "Bubble or Sustainable Growth?", inviting stakeholders—including manufacturers, exporters, importers, distributors, retailers, and startups—to explore the long-term viability of the pet industry and investment opportunities.
