Alma Named by Travel + Leisure as One of the World's Top 500 Hotels

The 2025 T+L 500 list is drawn from the results of the 2024 World's Best Awards, a reader's choice contest that is widely considered to be one of the two most important awards in the worldwide hospitality industry.

The T+L 500 compiles hotels and resorts that, according to Travel + Leisure, "readers turn to again and again for quality, luxury, exceptional service, and outstanding amenities. The list, which is sorted in alphabetic order and by geographic region, is an invaluable resource for countless travelers who turn to T+L for advice and recommendations."

Travel + Leisure announced its select 500 on April 23 this year. The full list appears in the May issue of Travel + Leisure and on Apple News+.

The hotels are categorized into eight geographic regions: Africa and the Middle East; Asia; Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific; Canada; the Caribbean; Europe; Mexico, Central America, and South America; and the United States.

Alma's managing director Herbert Laubichler-Pichler said the resort's team was "extremely grateful" for the recognition, applauding his "talented and driven" team and "hugely supportive" owner.

"It is such an honour for an independently owned and operated Vietnamese resort to be named among the world's top 500 by Travel + Leisure," he said. "This incredible achievement all the more motivates our team to offer our guests the ultimate bucket-list getaway in Vietnam."

Alma was called out as the top resort in Southeast Asia, the No. 2 resort in Asia and No. 9 resort worldwide in the 2024 Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards, scoring 99.2 on the awards' 100-point survey.

"A 30-hectare stunner on Cam Ranh Peninsula in southern Vietnam, Alma Resort not only holds the title of best hotel in Southeast Asia, but also one of the best in Asia and the world. 'Alma is exceptional,' wrote one T+L reader, calling out its laundry list of 'incredible facilities.' Add to that beautiful accommodations, some with private pools, and service that one T+L reader called 'phenomenal,' and you have a recipe for a perfect beach vacation," Travel + Leisure's associate editorial director Alisha Prakash wrote about Alma when the results of the World's Best Awards were announced in July last year.

Global recognition for Alma from Travel + Leisure follows Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau in 2024 naming Laubichler-Pichler "Vietnam's Best General Manager" in the "Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2024". Readers of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau also voted Alma in the top five of the "Best Hotel Pools in Vietnam" category.
