The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) has officially launched the orientation program for the ODOS Summer Camp Project, preparing selected Thai youth participants for the second cohort (Class of 2026) prior to their departure for educational experiences at world-renowned institutions and exposure to digital innovation ecosystems at leading global technology companies across nine countries.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), presided over the opening ceremony of the ODOS Summer Camp Orientation Day and delivered an inspirational address to the Thai youth selected for participation in the ODOS Summer Camp Project, second cohort (Class of 2026). Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn, Acting Senior Executive Vice President of depa, serving as the Project Director, delivered the welcoming remarks and received the participating students, as well as partner network representatives supporting the project, at the depa headquarters building, Soi Lat Phrao 10, Chatuchak District.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon stated that the ODOS Summer Camp Project, a summer opportunity initiative, has received budgetary support from the Government Lottery Office to provide educational scholarships enabling all youth participants to gain unprecedented living and educational experiences through 19 specially designed programs at premier universities across nine countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Finland, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Participants will experience digital innovation and ecosystems at world-class technology companies, all aimed at enhancing digital knowledge and skills while inspiring future academic pursuits and career development.
"depa extends its heartfelt encouragement to all youth participants. Each of you serves as a representative of Thailand; therefore, we must maintain humility, demonstrate adherence to regulations, and adapt to the respective cultural contexts of each nation. Furthermore, I urge everyone to diligently acquire knowledge and experiences across all dimensions. The opportunity you have received constitutes invaluable capital for your life journey, future education, and professional endeavors. I encourage all participants to return and share these enriching experiences with your peers and fellow citizens, thereby serving as sources of inspiration and generating transformative energy for Thai society and the nation. Concurrently, depa expresses profound gratitude to our partners, including Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited and Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited, as well as both public and private sector partner organizations that have played instrumental roles in supporting the ODOS Summer Camp Project, second cohort (Class of 2026), and providing opportunities to all participants." stated the depa President/CEO.
Dr. Warin reported that the ODOS Summer Camp Project, second cohort (Class of 2026), received a total of 6,496 applications from 895 districts/subdistricts. Following the selection process, 928 representatives from districts/subdistricts were admitted to the program. Additionally, six participants were selected from the high-potential digital youth category through the National Coding & AI Competition, a nationwide competition conducted under the government-supported Coding Thailand 2025: AI-Driven Future initiative.
"The ODOS Summer Camp orientation activities are designed to prepare selected youth participants comprehensively, addressing travel logistics, fostering inspiration, and facilitating relationship-building among program participants. The project aspires to constitute a long-term investment in developing the next generation, who will serve as vital forces in driving the nation digital economy and society. This initiative provides youth with skills and experiences aligned with the contemporary world facing rapid transformations in both economic and technological spheres. I extend my sincere congratulations to all participants selected for this program." stated the Acting Senior Executive Vice President of depa.
Youth participating in the ODOS Summer Camp orientation program will receive essential information regarding overseas living from embassy representatives and partner organizations, acquire techniques for effectively sharing experiences through social media platforms, and gain knowledge while experiencing the application of digital technology and innovation across industrial and agricultural sectors, as well as Thailand digital ecosystem, through field visits to Chonburi Province at Kubota Farm, EEC Automation Park, and the Thailand Digital Valley Project, including tours of the AIS EEC Evolution Experience Center and Ericsson 5G Innovation & Experience Studio.
