Thoresen Shipping, the shipping arm of Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company Limited (TTA), has secured a one-year time charter for the newly delivered ultramax bulk carrier Juniper Point, strengthening its ongoing collaboration with Singapore-based Asiatic Lloyd Maritime and reinforcing confidence in the company's fleet deployment and commercial capabilities.
Juniper Point, a 63,600-DWT Ultramax newbuilding delivered in Zhoushan, China, on 10 February 2026, following a naming ceremony held the previous week at shipbuilder Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry. The vessel is owned through a single-ship vehicle linked to Asiatic Lloyd Maritime and will join Thoresen Shipping's trading fleet, enhancing the Company's ability to serve global dry bulk transportation demand with newer, larger, and more capable tonnage.
This charter further extends the longstanding commercial relationship between Thoresen Shipping and Asiatic Lloyd Maritime. In 2025, Thoresen Shipping also chartered the Avery Point (63,500-DWT, built 2025), reinforcing a consistent track record of repeat business and mutual confidence. With the addition of Juniper Point, Thoresen Shipping continues to strengthen and refresh its fleet mix, improving operational flexibility and reinforcing competitiveness across global trade lanes.
This charter supports Thoresen Shipping's strategy to enhance fleet quality and commercial agility through a disciplined mix of owned and chartered-in vessels. Reflecting the strength of this strategy, TTA Thoresen Shipping ranked 2nd among global listed dry bulk companies in Lienguard & Roschmenn, Maritime Advisors' 2024 performance survey and was the only company to remain in the Top 5 for seven consecutive years from 2018 to 2024. In 2025, the company achieved a TCE rate of US$13,315 per day, 14% above market, while maintaining OPEX 15% below market, underscoring its operational excellence and ability to generate sustainable value across market cycles.
