The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Siam Piwat, a leading retail and property development company today opened the "Steps for Tomorrow - A Journey Towards Zero Hunger" exhibition at the Siam Paragon mall, in Bangkok, to raise awareness about WFP's work to tackle hunger across the Asia-Pacific region.
Across Asia-Pacific, 69 million people face acute hunger. WFP is at the forefront of the response, working in a region where conflict, climate shocks, and economic disparities continue to fuel hunger and malnutrition.
Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat, emphasized the importance of partnerships, noting that Siam Piwat cannot achieve progress towards a sustainable future alone and needs visionary partners and innovation-driven leaders, like WFP, who are committed to sustainability and dedicated to making a difference.
"By bringing this exhibition to one of Bangkok's most iconic retail destinations, we are enabling Thai consumers and visitors to learn, engage and to act in support of the most vulnerable communities," said Samir Wanmali, WFP Regional Director for the Asia-Pacific. "Every partnership, whether with the private sector, governments or individuals, is essential to reach more people and build a future where everyone has access to food."
An immersive journey of action and impact
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday, 29 November, to Monday, 1 December, and will take visitors on an interactive journey through five zones that showcase WFP's operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Journey begins by spotlighting WFP's mandate and global fight against hunger, then reveals how support is transformed into meals for families in need. Visitors will explore the tools and systems powering real-world emergency responses and listen to stories of resilience and recovery from countries like Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
The journey ends at the "Take Action" zone, an inspiring space where visitors can learn, play, and give back through interactive games such as Freerice and ShareTheMeal, turning awareness into real action.
