SCB expands Cross-Border Payment Service to "China - Laos," Covering 8 ASEAN Countries

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) reinforces its leadership in digital banking by continuing to strengthen and expand its regional cross-border payment network. The Bank has recently launched Thai QR cross-border payment services between Thailand, the People's Republic of China, and the Lao PDR, enabling Chinese and Lao tourists visiting Thailand this high season to conveniently, quickly, and securely make payments for goods and services using Alipay, UnionPay, Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay), and mobile banking applications from Laos to scan Thai QR Payment codes at shops nationwide, including over 840,000 Mae Manee merchants. This service expansion is part of the ASEAN Payment Connectivity initiative led by the Bank of Thailand, aimed at promoting seamless regional payment integration and supporting the continuous growth of tourism and cross-border trade across ASEAN.

SCB remains committed to developing financial innovations that meet the needs of today's digital consumers, particularly in the tourism sector, which plays a vital role in driving the Thai economy.
