Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui Appoints Michael Casey as Resort Manager

For Michael, hospitality has always been deeply personal. Growing up across Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United States, he developed an early appreciation for different cultures and the ways people connect across them. Yet it was a family tradition in Cairo that quietly inspired his future. Monthly visits to Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence introduced him not only to refined hospitality, but to something far more enduring.

"It felt like stepping into another world," he recalls. "Everything flowed effortlessly, but what stayed with me most was how genuinely cared for we always felt."

Those experiences sparked a fascination that would eventually become a lifelong career with Four Seasons.

After graduating from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston, Michael joined Four Seasons Hotel Houston while still studying. Beginning as a pool attendant before gaining experience across the fitness centre and front office, he built a strong operational foundation while learning that memorable hospitality is often created through the smallest gestures.

Since joining Four Seasons in 2006, Michael has held leadership positions across some of the company's most celebrated hotels and resorts, including Regent Singapore (formerly a Four Seasons hotel), Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi and most recently Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam. Each destination strengthened his belief that exceptional hospitality is inseparable from the character of the place itself.

"Luxury isn't measured by grandeur, but by how a guest feels long after they leave," he says. That philosophy naturally drew him to Koh Samui. "There is a wonderful sense of ease on Koh Samui. The island encourages people to slow down, reconnect with nature and spend meaningful time together. That's exactly the kind of experience we want every guest to leave with. Guests don't simply visit Koh Samui—they become part of its rhythm, its culture and its natural beauty."

Michael believes creating memorable guest experiences begins long before a guest arrives.

"Every employee contributes to the guest experience, whether or not they ever meet a guest. Creating memorable experiences begins by creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted and inspired. When our teams thrive, our guests naturally feel it."

His leadership philosophy reflects the Four Seasons Golden Rule, fostering a culture built on trust, collaboration and genuine care. Looking ahead, Michael hopes every guest leaves with something far more meaningful than photographs.

"I hope guests leave Koh Samui feeling more connected — to the island, to the people they've met and to one another."

One of his favourite places at the Resort is the Arrival Sala. "[It] sets the stage for everything that follows. It's where guests first experience the beauty, warmth and sense of calm that define Koh Samui. It immediately sets the tone for the rest of their stay."

When it comes to wellness, Michael finds himself returning to one particular experience. "Sound healing is one of my favourite experiences. It clears the mind, helps you refocus your energy and reminds you to simply be present."

An avid traveller and aquatic sports enthusiast, Michael is looking forward to embracing island life and working alongside the talented team at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui to continue creating thoughtful experiences inspired by the spirit of the destination.

"Koh Samui has a remarkable ability to slow people down in the best possible way. I'm excited to work with our team to help guests discover not only the beauty of the island, but also the sense of connection, care and belonging that makes every stay truly memorable."
