MGMC to Unlock New Strategic Opportunities for the Thailand MICE Industry
Thailand's MICE industry will have an opportunity to strengthen international business connections and explore new markets at the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) 2026. Scheduled for 16-17 December 2026 in Moscow, the event will bring together over 3,000 industry professionals from more than 40 countries.
Organised by the Moscow City Tourism Committee, the two-day congress will take place at the World Trade Centre in Moscow and bring together international and local buyers, event organisers, destination management companies (DMCs), hotels, airlines, and other MICE industry stakeholders. For Thai businesses, the event offers a platform to build strategic partnerships, connect with international decision-makers and explore new opportunities across some of the world's growing business travel markets.
The congress will facilitate business connections through an exhibition featuring more than 150 MICE suppliers and pre-scheduled B2B meetings. The Hosted Buyers programme will bring together over 200 senior decision-makers managing corporate event budgets from key markets including China, India, Southeast Asia, the GCC, Latin America, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
With C-level executives making up roughly 70% of attendees, the congress offers direct access to senior decision-makers. For Thailand's DMCs, hotel groups, airlines and MICE service providers, this presents an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, secure commercial partnerships and drive growth across international markets.
Anastasia Popova, Head of the Business Tourism Development Department at the Moscow City Tourism Committee, highlighted the importance of Thailand's participation, saying: "We attach immense value to the participation of our esteemed colleagues and industry experts from Thailand, one of the leading MICE destinations. The Congress offers an exceptional opportunity for Thai experts to showcase their potential on the global stage and expand their professional connections during the event."
Beyond business matchmaking, MGMC 2026 will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the global MICE industry under the theme "The Anatomy of Success in MICE: From Ideas and Tools to Tangible Results."
The conference programme will examine the full lifecycle of business events, from initial concept development and financial planning through to execution and performance evaluation. International industry leaders will share practical insights, case studies and emerging trends across areas including financial sustainability, digital innovation and international market development, with an emphasis on strategies that businesses can apply to their own operations.
Moscow continues to strengthen its position as a global hub for the MICE industry. Beyond hosting major international events, the city invests in infrastructure development, including large-scale convention and exhibition centres. Organisers can also draw on more than 150 distinctive venues, including museums, art galleries and historic estates, to incorporate cultural experiences into their events.
Complementing this infrastructure, Moscow supports international access through an e-visa system available to citizens of 64 countries and an increasing number of direct flights connecting the city with major global capitals.
