On World Heart Day, AXA Insurance Thailand Encourages Working Professionals to Prioritise Heart Health Through Health Prevention and Future Health Preparedness
On World Heart Day, AXA Insurance Thailand is reinforcing the importance of Health Prevention by encouraging working professionals to prioritise their heart and cardiovascular health, which are essential to long-term well-being and quality of life. AXA is also committed to helping people in Thailand prepare for potential health risks and future medical expenses through a comprehensive range of health insurance solutions tailored to different life stages, enabling individuals to plan for their health and navigate life's uncertainties with greater confidence.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with more than one-third of related deaths occurring among people under the age of 70. In addition, people working more than 55 hours per week face a 35% higher risk of stroke and a 17% higher risk of ischaemic heart disease compared with those working 35-40 hours per week. These findings highlight the importance of managing health risks through healthier habits, paying attention to the body's warning signs, undergoing appropriate health checks and planning for potential healthcare costs.
AXA Insurance Thailand recommends five practical ways working professionals can incorporate heart-health care into their daily routines:
- Take time to manage stress by stepping away from screens or work responsibilities throughout the day. Even a short 5 to 10-minute break can help reduce accumulated stress that may affect heart health.
- Add more movement into daily routines such as walking between online meetings, using the stairs instead of the elevator, or taking a walk after meals.
- Get sufficient and consistent sleep: Make rest a priority alongside work to help reduce risk factors associated with chronic health conditions.
- Pay attention to unusual symptoms and have appropriate health checks: Those experiencing symptoms such as unusual fatigue, palpitations, or chest pain should seek advice or medical attention from a healthcare professional.
- Effective Healthcare Cost Planning: Choose health insurance coverage that suits individual needs, lifestyle, and financial circumstances.
