Bangkok Bank continues to promote Cross-Border QR Payments: Invites shops in Chinatown to accept easy and secure payments from foreign tourists

The booth aimed to promote the Bank's Cross-Border QR Payment service to tourists and shops in Chinatown.

This year this event has been held three times in Thailand's major commercial districts that are popular with foreign tourists such as Montatip Hall in Udon Thani, Asiatique The Riverfront on Charoen Krung road in Bangkok, and The Old Siam Plaza in Bangkok to stimulate the use of Cross-Border QR Payment services under the concept of "Pay Like a Local". The service supports payments from 9 countries including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Hong Kong, Laos, and Cambodia through merchants using Bangkok Bank Merchant Pro service. The merchant will receive money in Thai Baht immediately. According to the statistics of service usage in the first 9 months of 2026, the Cross-Border QR Payment spending of foreign tourists in Thailand through Bangkok Bank merchants has continued to grow in terms of both the number of transactions and the value. This reflects the increasing popularity of spending through the Cross-Border QR Payment system. Bangkok Bank, as a Leading Regional Bank, has prepared experts to consult and recruit merchants who want to receive Cross-Border QR Payments to help create a convenient and safe spending experience for foreign tourists and encourage Thai entrepreneurs to access greater purchasing power in the digital financial era.
