On 18 August 2026, Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited was one of 12 organizations to receive the DCCE Climate Partner Award from the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE). The award recognizes organizations that have provided sustained and tangible support for climate action. Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, Senior Executive Vice President, Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications, received the award on behalf of Bangchak from Dr. Raweewan Puridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The award ceremony was held at DCCE headquarters as part of the department's third anniversary celebration.
Mrs. Gloyta said, "We sincerely thank DCCE for the DCCE Climate Partner Award. This recognition is both a source of encouragement for Bangchak and a testament to the power of collaboration. The transition to a low-carbon society cannot be achieved by any one organization. We therefore focus not only on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from Bangchak Group's operations, but also on sharing knowledge and technology and working with government agencies, businesses, academic institutions and suppliers to build a low-carbon ecosystem and support the goal of Net Zero by 2050."
Beyond raising awareness and taking action within the organization, Bangchak also places importance on sharing knowledge and strengthening carbon management capabilities across its networks. Mrs. Gloyta was recently invited to speak about Bangchak Group's sustainability efforts and pathway to Net Zero as part of the Low Carbon and Climate Resilience Empowerment Program for DCCE personnel. The program was conducted under EMPOWER II in collaboration with GIZ and Chiang Mai University. Her presentation covered target setting and performance tracking, greenhouse gas emission reduction, natural carbon sequestration, low-carbon business development, the use of technology to support the transition, and ecosystem building toward Net Zero by 2050.
In her capacity as Chair of the Carbon Markets Club, Mrs. Gloyta was also invited to deliver a lecture titled "Carbon Markets: From Credits to Business Opportunity" at the Bangkok Bank Green Transition Academy #2. Organized by Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, the program brought together executives and leaders from a range of industries. Her presentation covered the evolution and mechanisms of carbon markets, relevant laws and policies, carbon credit quality and credibility, and related business risks and opportunities. She also emphasized the "Reduce First" principle, which prioritizes reducing emissions from operations before using carbon credits to offset only those emissions that cannot yet be reduced.
Moreover, Mrs. Gloyta, together with Bangchak executives and employees, welcomed participants in Walailak University's management development program for middle- and junior-level managers to Bangchak headquarters. The delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Warit Jawjit, Vice President for Administration and Sustainable Development. The visit was intended to broaden participants' knowledge and build on cooperation in Thailand's sustainability and innovation ecosystem, in line with the cooperation agreement signed by Bangchak and Walailak University to mark the Carbon Markets Club's fifth anniversary earlier this year.
Most recently, Bangchak organized a greenhouse gas management course for Bangchak Group suppliers. The course covered the principles of greenhouse gas accounting, emissions source analysis, and hands-on practice with an organizational carbon footprint assessment tool developed by BCPG Public Company Limited. The initiative reflects Bangchak's commitment to working alongside suppliers, business partners and networks to build a shared understanding of greenhouse gas management, prepare for growing sustainability requirements, reduce emissions across the supply chain, and grow sustainably together.
Beyond climate and environmental action, Bangchak also gives importance to its responsibilities toward employees, suppliers, communities, society and business stakeholders. The company conducts its business transparently and responsibly, in accordance with good corporate governance, to create sustainable value and growth.
