Sakul Intakul Turns Inspiration from Nepal into 'Tiger & Torma: Timeless Tales of Nepal'

The Embassy of Nepal in Thailand, River City Bangkok, Thai-Nepal Friendship Association, and Sakul Intakul Studio are proud to present Tiger & Torma: Timeless Tales of Nepal, a contemporary art exhibition by renowned floral-artist-turned-visual-artist Sakul "Ong" Intakul. Running from 1 to 30 August 2026 at RCB Galleria 4, this free-admission exhibition invites viewers into the heart of Nepal's Buddhist philosophy, culture, and natural beauty.

Inspired by the protective Tibetan Tiger Rug and the floral Torma offering, this cross-cultural collaboration champions sustainability and social empowerment, seamlessly weaving contemporary installations, fine art, and ancient textiles to support the communities that created them.

Four Chapters of Artistry & Empowerment

The Torma Concept: Eco-friendly, traditional Tibetan-style carpets by a Master Weaver of Nepal, paired with matching contemporary paintings by Sakul Intakul. Allo & Floral Art: Fresh flowers interwoven with wild, sustainable Himalayan Giant Nettle (Allo), hand-knitted by women artisans at the Fair Trade certified Kumbeshwar Technical School.

Dhaka Textile Installation: Sacred geometric hand-loomed textiles by award-winning master weaver Chunu Bastola, styled like a tiger rug to create a "Pink Tiger Temple"—a soul-nurturing space celebrating women-led craft economies.

The Masterpiece: An exclusive centerpiece painting by renowned Dolpo artist Tenzin Norbu, uniting both concepts through indigenous, earth-friendly sensibilities. Wisdom and Compassion in Balance At its core, the exhibition interprets two powerful spiritual symbols as the essential pillars of life:

The Tiger (Wisdom): A sacred guardian representing spiritual wisdom, courage rooted in S?la (good conduct), and the inner peace of Sam?dhi (meditation) that tames the "wild mind."

The Torma (Compassion): A sacred ritual offering whose true value lies not in its physical beauty, but in the ultimate act of D?na (selfless giving)—being broken and returned to nature to feed wild animals, embodying Karun? (absolute compassion).A Shared Spiritual Tapestry
