Roojai Celebrates 10 Years of Growth with Jingjo, the Brand Icon Behind a Decade of Insurance Innovation

Roojai, Thailand's leading direct-to-consumer digital insurer, today celebrates its 10th anniversary alongside Jingjo, the iconic mascot that has become synonymous with the company's mission to make insurance simpler and more accessible for consumers.

Roojai Celebrates 10 Years of Growth with Jingjo, the Brand Icon Behind a Decade of Insurance Innovation

Since launching in 2016, Roojai has grown from an online insurance broker into Roojai Insurance, a fully licensed insurer while operating under the Roojai Group in both Thailand and Indonesia, earning the trust of more than 370,000 customers. Throughout that journey, Jingjo has become one of Thailand's most recognisable insurance brand icons, embodying the company's customer-first approach and helping make insurance more approachable for millions of consumers.

Over the past decade, Roojai has pioneered the direct-to-consumer insurance model in Thailand, obtained its insurance license in 2023, expanded into Indonesia, and secured a US$60 million Series C investment led by Apis Partners and Asia Partners

in 2025. These milestones have been underpinned by strong business performance, with Group Gross Written Premium (GWP) more than tripling from THB 1.0 billion in 2021 to THB 3.3 billion in 2025.

That momentum continued in H1 2026, with Roojai Insurance generating THB 1.6 billion in Gross Written Premium and THB 212 million in net profit. Profitability was supported by a loss ratio below 65% for the fifth consecutive year, disciplined underwriting and a highly efficient operating model. The company also maintained a strong Capital Adequacy Ratio of 520%, reflecting its financial strength and resilience.

"Ten years ago, we started Roojai with a simple idea: insurance should be easier for customers," said Nicolas Faquet, CEO and Founder of Roojai Group. "Since then, more than 370,000 customers have trusted us to protect their vehicles. Becoming a licensed insurer has given us greater opportunities to innovate, and as we enter our second decade, we will continue using technology and artificial intelligence to deliver better products, faster service and a better customer experience."

"The success of the past 10 years gives us confidence for the future. While motor insurance remains our core strength, we see substantial opportunities to expand into health and other personal insurance products. By continuing to combine innovation, operational excellence and customer-centricity, Roojai aims to become the preferred insurer for personal insurance in Thailand," said Korakrit Khumruangrit, Chairman of the Board and Independent Director of Roojai Insurance.

Roojai's commitment to innovation is focused on delivering tangible benefits to customers. During the severe Hat Yai floods in late 2025, the company combined AI-enabled claims technology with dedicated on-the-ground support teams to help affected customers receive assistance and claims settlements more quickly during a period of significant disruption.

Looking ahead, Roojai has set ambitious goals for 2030:

  • Increase its share of Thailand's motor insurance market to 6%.
  • Expand its international operations in Indonesia and beyond.
  • Grow non-motor insurance by launching more products including the planned launch of Private Medical Insurance (PMI).

To support these ambitions, Roojai will continue investing in artificial intelligence across underwriting, claims management and customer service, while strengthening its motor insurance leadership, expanding EV and travel insurance offerings, and pursuing selected strategic growth opportunities.

"Our ambitions for 2030 reflect the confidence we have in the business we have built," added Nicolas Faquet. "With strong capitalisation, profitable growth, loyal customers and supportive investors, we are well positioned for the next phase of expansion as we build a broader protection ecosystem for consumers across Southeast Asia."
