"COLOURS BY EUROPE. TASTES OF EXCELLENCE." campaign, which promotes the European Union (EU) agricultural food and beverages products, presented its first "Chef Table" — a unique concept presenting home-cooked European dinner by Thanarat Fuengfu, Sous Chef at Central Food Hall. This activity was organized by the EU in collaboration with Central Food Retail Co., Ltd. The culinary evening took place on 7 January 2022 at G Floor - Central Food Hall, Central Chidlom. It was presented by MEAN Phiravich Attachitsataporn, a popular celebrity, director and influencer in Thailand, who welcomed guests from leading media organizations and consumers who were top spenders of EU agricultural food and beverage products at TOPS online and Central Food Hall, Central Bang Na between 15 and 21 December, 2021.

Guests explored a fine world of agricultural food and beverage products from across the EU in a two-hour culinary session. They enjoyed an evening of wine and dine with dishes prepared from EU ingredients available at Central Food Hall. The four-course meal, paired with authentic and high-quality EU wines, consisted of appetizer cold cuts and cheese platter, a European salad for entree, and main dish of Irish stew with pork or beef - featuring Charolais, world-famous breeds of cattle and top-quality beef from France. The wine pairing dinner closed with sweet notes from Portugal with its world-famous pastry Pastel de Nata and Porto PDO wine. The evening showcased over 20 EU ingredients, including nine (9) EU geographical indication products, from France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and Austria. This remarkable Chef Table experience aimed to encourage consumers to discover more about the European culinary culture, easy-to-use ingredients, to purchase EU products, and to create dishes which they can easily prepare, enjoy, and share with their family and friends at home. There are many products to choose from for any occasion — currently, Central Food Hall is promoting over 300 agricultural food products from the EU. The products range from meat and dairy to fruits and vegetables, cereals and pasta, olive oil, sweets, chocolates and confectioneries, wines, beer, spirits, and much more.

The 27 EU member States' food products are known for their high quality and rich gastronomic heritage, as well as the highest standards of excellence at every stage of production and distribution. Moreover, the EU put in place the Geographical indication (GI) quality scheme, which is a guarantee of authenticity. This is the mark of European excellence and aims at protecting the names of specific products to promote their unique characteristics, linked to their geographical origin and traditional know-how. Over 3000 agricultural food products in all the 27 Member States are covered by them. The PDO label indicates that every part of the production, processing and preparation process must take place in the specific region. The PGI label means at least one of the stages of production, processing or preparation takes place in the region. Finally, the GI label protects the name of a spirit drink or aromatized wine originating in a country, region or locality where the product's particular quality, reputation or other characteristic is essentially attributable to its geographical origin.
