In keeping with its plan to continuously develop new, quality products, OISHI, a leader in KING of Japanese Food, has now ventured into the seasoning market with three new Japanese-style sauces that will add a flavourful kick to home-cooked meals. The seasonings - Sukiyaki, Teriyaki and Shoyu - will be marketed under the OISHI brand.

"OISHI" wades into the seasoning market by launching Japanese-style dips and sauces to meet the needs of foodies and home cooks

Ms. Mekhala Nethipo, Senior Vice President, Packaged Food Business, OISHI Group PLC., said the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent restrictions have changed consumer behavior, especially people's eating and drinking habits. With more people working at home and eating out less often, they have more time on their hands to cook at home.

"This trend will continue to affect products and services related to cooking at home. It also corresponds to the seasoning market in Thailand, which has enjoyed a long-term growth trend and an open-market opportunity. We at OISHI, as long-time veterans in the food market, aim to continuously develop and introduce new, innovative products and services. Our new products, all-purpose Japanese-style dips and sauces under the OISHI brand, are convenient time savers for home cooks," Ms. Mekhala said.

Realising that its dips and sauces are already popular among diners at the OISHI chain of Japanese restaurants, the company decided to bottle them and offer them as separate products. The first three flavours to be launched in the market are presented in the form of the bottled sauce. The 330-gram Sukiyaki sauce retails at 65 baht per bottle, while the Teriyaki and Shoyu sauces come in 200-ml bottles and go for 67 baht each.

The sauces will initially be sold via more than 200 OISHI-affiliated restaurants nationwide, namely OISHI GRAND, OISHI EATERIUM, OISHI BUFFET, NIKUYA, SHABUSHI, OISHI RAMEN, KAKASHI and HOU YUU. They will also be added to the delivery menu, which can be either accessed by calling 1773 or online via www.OISHIDELIVERY.com. The company plans to expand sales channels for the products soon by adding them to shelves in modern trade outlets and convenience stores.

OISHI is introducing the sauces at a special promotion price as an added treat for foodies until March 31, 2021. Under the introductory offer, the 330g Sukiyaki sauce will go for just 59 baht from the original price of 65 baht, while the 200ml Teriyaki and Shoyu sauces will go for just 62 baht from the original 67 baht if bought through participating OISHI restaurants or if ordered through OISHI DELIVERY.

"We are committed to continuously developing and presenting new, quality products and services that offer a wide experience of Japanese food. This will not just offer an alternative to the lovers of Japanese cuisine but will also reinforce the image in KING of Japanese Food as well," Ms. Mekhala concluded.
