Legacy of Legends, the Pattaya-based charity event promoter, today launches “Legacy of Legends - Sugar Ray Leonard” extravaganza black tie and sports charity events tour in Bangkok and Pattaya starting April 5th.
Mr. Kevin Fisher, CEO of Legacy of Legends, said: “Legacy of Legends Organization is Thailand’s first sport and entertaining charity event promoter. Peter Banner and I jointly founded this organization. We are both long-term residents of Thailand. We recognized opportunities for profitable businesses to lend our capable hands to help many non-profit charity organizations give a better life to the needy and the under-privileges.
“We have appointed Sugar Ray Leonard as the celebrity ambassador of the organization’s first charity event as the boxing legend is well-known for his charitable efforts worldwide. Meanwhile, the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation is selected as the first non-profit charitable organization to benefit from this event as the founder, Khun Mechai, is well-known as the role model of sustainable corporate social responsibility (CSR).”
Mr. Mechai Veravidhaya, Founder of the Mechai Veravidhaya Foundation, said: “There is no government in the world that can do all or provide adequately everything for its people, especially in education. The country needs the help of others, in particular businesses, which have achieved success. Profitable companies must share some of their profit to help make society a better place. The government can encourage such endeavors by providing tax incentives for donations from the private sector to education, where they can deduct from their tax double the amount they donate."
The Legacy of Legends - Sugar Ray Leonard Tour will consist of extravaganza gala dinners in Bangkok on April 5 at the Plaza Athénée Bangkok - a Royal Méridien Hotel and in Pattaya on April 6 at the Centara Grand Mirage Pattaya. The charity golf tournaments will be held on April 9 at the Riverside Golf Course on Bangkok and April 10 at the Phoenix Golf Course in Pattaya.
Featuring boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, the extravaganza gala dinner will feature a five-course menu accompanied by free flow of drinks including wine and beer. Highlight’s of the evening will be a special Power Talk by Sugar Ray Leonard, a Motivational Speech by Mr. Mechai Veravidhaya, top notch music and entertaining performances by the 10-piece funky 70s – 80s “Motown” style music by The Universal Band of Khun Neung Jakkawal, The best Tina Turner and The Three Degrees, impersonators John Travolta – Grease Dancers, as well as charity auction of unique celebrity items.
The charity golf tournaments will feature shot gun golf in the afternoon, golf outing in unison with the opportunity to spend the afternoon playing golf and meeting with boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, social dinner party - International Buffet with free flow wine and beer. Thailand’s unique sports- and entertaining charity event promoter; Legacy of Legends is founded by veteran event promoters Kevin Fisher and Peter Banner to enable unique sports sponsorships stories through high-end events, starred by legendary sport heroes such as Sugar Ray Leonard. Legacy of Legends will to donate a part of each events revenue to selected charitable organizations such as the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation.
Mechai Viravaidya, a.k.a. ‘Mr. Condom’ is the role model of sustainable development in Thailand. He established the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation and opened the Mechai Pattana School in Northeastern Thailand in 2009. The foundation highlights Mechai’s community-based development works, including the Community Based Integrated Rural Development Center under The Population and Community Development Association and Meechai Pattana School in Buriram.
