After introducing the breakthrough SKYACTIV technology in the ALL New Mazda CX-5 and staging the media test drive event in Chiang Rai that enhanced the impact of the highly-attractive compact SUV, distributor Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is moving ahead with the introduction of three new models at the annual Thailand International Motor Expo. Mazda expects to receive as many as 3,000 orders at this year’s Motor Expo in order to it achieve its annual sales target this year.

Mr. Choichi Yuki, President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said that in addition to the ALL New Mazda CX-5 to be highlighted at this year’s Motor Expo, Mazda is also revving up impact with several new sporty models in its product lineup covering a wide range of customer groups. “Leading the pack is the luxurious seven-seater CX-9 crossover that features the essence of new ‘KODO Design’ theme that embodies a sporty and elegant multi-purpose image. The new CX-9 boasts an even more up-to-date and dynamic design, and comes with full Active and Passive Safety features. At the same time, Mazda is also introducing the facelift version of the world’s most popular sports car, the MX-5 roadster, for the first time in Thailand at this year’s event,” he said.

“Another important market that has always enjoyed high demand and sales is the 1-ton pickup truck market. Mazda is offering an expanded lineup with the launch of the Mazda BT-50 PRO CNG powered by a 2.5-liter petrol engine. It is equipped with a 150-liter high-quality CNG tank which is the largest in the market” Mr. Yuki added.

Thanks to extremely strong customer acceptance for the Mazda CX-5 making it the most popular SUV in the market today, more than 2,000 orders have been placed by customers since it was unveiled to the public just 3 weeks ago. “Key driver of popularity in the CX-5 here in Thailand and everywhere globally is the new SKYACTIV Technology. It is the first time SUV drivers around the world are offered a reasonable choice for smart driving. The values SKYACTIV technology brings along with CX-5 and other Mazda’s 6th generation products are powerful performance yet fuel efficiency and cleaner emission. Such choices haven’t been offered by any car brand before. This gives our customers an opportunity to own vehicles that offer great all-round capabilities, and with this strong welcoming from customers, we are confident of achieving our sales target of 10,000 units within the first year of introduction,” he said.

Other Mazda vehicles introduced at this year’s Motor Expo, consisting of new passenger car and pickup models, will also help boost sales to over 3,000 units at this particular event.

Ms. Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Vice President for Marketing said for this year’s Motor Expo, Mazda is presenting a new brand image on the 1,400 square-meter show space with a new booth design reflecting the cutting-edge “KODO Design” theme, displaying modern elements, sportiness and powerful image of its products. “In addition to 3 new models which are the highlights at the Mazda booth, we are also displaying all the full range of our sporty products including the fashionable Mazda2 that has recently been given a design update for increased sportiness and value-for-money. The Mazda2 is presented by two of the hottest celebrities of this era – James Ma for the Mazda2 Sports and Nadech Kugimiya for the Mazda2 Elegance. Both James and Nadech represent the sporty and trendy character of the Mazda2, which is meant to be the for new generation,” she said.

Most importantly, the two presenters will also make personal appearances at the Mazda booth in the Motor Expo, starting with James on Saturday (November 30) at 4pm onwards. Meanwhile, Nadech will meet up with fans on Father’s Day (December 5). Mazda will also be giving Mazda2 customers 2-year free maintenance coupons along with a long list of other special offers.
